Although somewhat convoluted, the carefully revealed backstory actually makes sense (something of a rarity for the genre), and the script keeps the viewer guessing right to the end. Despite a few shortcomings, Don’t Torture a Duckling is a beautifully realized horror film with shades of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, and a plot that will have you guessing right until the end.
