I don’t know about your family, but since we have been staying home for the majority of the year, we are trying to find different ways to have fun. Historically, we may have spent a Saturday or Sunday with friends, tailgating, and watching football with others. Now that we are home, we have been trying to incorporate new traditions and activities to keep ourselves busy. Thankfully we live in a place that has mostly sunny days, even as things start to cool down outside. Last weekend, we decided some at home tailgating would be fun with our new Weber Genesis II E-315 grill in Indigo, exclusive to our local Ace Hardware store.
At Home Tailgating with Ace Hardware
When choosing a menu for our at home tailgate, I wanted to pick something that would be enjoyed by all. I also kept in mind that Harper loves to help cook, so I wanted to pick something that she could easily assist me with. Burgers are always a favorite in our house, and feel like the perfect tailgating food! We kept things simple, but also fun by adding some pineapple to the grill to top off our burgers.
Another great at home tailgating menu idea are kabobs, especially if you also have a child who likes to help cook. Each family member can choose a food item to include in the kabob, such as bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc. Harper loves to help place each item on the skewer! Kabobs are also perfect to grill. If you haven’t guessed by now, the name of the game when cooking for kids (especially if your kids get hangry like mine do!) is quick and easy.
Our Weber grill helped make the cooking process fast and efficient, and ensured our food was cooked to perfection. I wouldn’t consider myself to be a grill master, but the Weber Genesis II E-325 from Ace Hardware is super user friendly. It is compatible with the iGrill, a Bluetooth enabled meat thermometer, which we will be definitely be purchasing. I know it will be the perfect addition to our grill to help us continue our at home tailgates with the kids!
What are some ways you and your family have enjoyed spending your time at home? Have you tried an at home tailgate yet? I’d love to hear about your experience with it!
