Happy Labor Day! I’m hoping you are enjoying a nice long weekend! Am I the only one who thinks weekends should always be three days instead of two? I doubt it! Today I am sharing a total Tim Gunn “make it work” moment. Let’s face it… we’ve all been there. You find something online that you absolutely love and decide to order it. If you’re like me, you probably look at the sizing chart and measure yourself and think “yeah, a size ___will totally work!” You wait a week or two for your order to arrive and are so excited when it finally shows up. You pull your item out of the packaging, take a good look at it, and say to yourself, “This size looks perfect!” Then you get a rude awakening when you actually try on said item and it doesn’t fit the way you hoped it would. That is exactly what happened with this embroidered “dress” from SheIn. I had a feeling that it may fit me more like a tunic, but it wound up being even shorter than I anticipated and I wound up having to wear it as a blouse. I recently posted another outfit with a cute tassel dress, also from SheIn, which wound up working better as a tunic for me. I think it’s safe to say that if you are over about 5’7″ (I am 5’10” for reference), SheIn dresses will probably not be quite long enough to wear as an actual dress, even if you size up. You may also run into some trouble if you have wider hips like I do! Even though this piece certainly did not fit me as a dress, I loved it too much to not make it work. It’s always such a bummer when things don’t fit the way you think they will, but there are always ways to mix things up to work for you! Have you ever had a “make it work” moment?

I love how you styled it as a top! It looks great! My make it works are usually the opposite – things are too long! Being out the super high wedges or cuffing the hem. 😀
