Accessorizing Your Basics

Did anyone else experience the WEIRDEST weather ever this weekend? Yesterday we drove up north for our first baby shower at my in-law’s house. I am not kidding when I say that we drove through the worst weather I have ever seen – snow and ice packed roads for 3+ hours straight, including a steady snowfall the entire time. Today we arrived back home in Albuquerque to calm blue skies and the snow had melted to the point where you wouldn’t believe me if I told you what it looked like here yesterday. Thankfully I was able to get out and take some outfit photos. I have been slacking in this area lately thanks to our crazy weather and well to be honest, crazy life events. But I feel like I am back now with nothing to stop me and it feels good! 
Today’s outfit is pretty simple and gets most of it’s appeal from the accessories I am wearing. I love this Old Navy top, but found that from the side I just look huge and not pregnant… not cute! So I decided to use my favorite leopard belt to add a little more dimension to the look. Countdown to Spring

It’s pretty crazy to think that it will officially be spring in a few weeks,and boy am I ready! This week has been really cold here in Albuquerque, although probably nothing compared to those of you who live on the East Coast. I am totally ready for warmer weather because along with rising temperatures comes bright nail polish, flats, and and lots of flowy lightweight pieces in my closet. I am looking forward to wearing maxi dresses again and am hoping to find some that will work both pre- and post-baby. Two Exciting New Ways To Shop Online

Happy Monday… always sounds a bit ironic don’t you think? I am hoping this week won’t be as crazy as last week was! This upcoming weekend my in-law’s are throwing us our first baby shower, so there is definitely something big to look forward to! Today I wanted to share a few new shopping sites with you all that I think you will love! A few months ago I was introduced to Glamhive, which is a fantastic way to post your favorite looks and earn rewards at the same time. Think of an #ootd only version of Instagram. It is similar to Like To Know It in that each photo post is shoppable, but rather than receiving emails with product links, you can shop directly from the Glamhive app or website. Another new shopping site that you may not have heard of yet is West Egg. With West Egg, all you need to have is an Instagram account to log in and start shopping. Instagram Lately

My best friend and I in our Pinterest inspired photo – we are exactly 11 weeks apart, so of course we had to document being pregnant at the same time!
TGIF!!! Although this week feels like it went by really fast, it was definitely a crazy one for me, hence the lack of blog posts. I am yet to really share much about my life outside of blogging, but I did start a new job this week which is why I have been a bit of a slacker. I try really hard to stick to my 3 times a week/Monday, Wednesday, Friday posting schedule but that was just not happening this week. 27 weeks pregnant and starting a new job… I know, I must be crazy right!? I know that it is just a short term adjustment and the end result will be worth it, but it did make for an exhausting week. I did try to keep active on Instagram as always, so here’s a little recap for those of you who are not following along (and if you’re not you totally should be – @lindsayrutland). A Little Boho and Ready for Spring

Up until yesterday, we have had the most beautiful weather in Albuquerque and it’s been hard to believe that it’s only February! I’m talking a temperature that has been reaching the 70’s and needless to say this weather has me seriously craving spring. I am not a fan of cold weather and I could totally live in outfits like this – jeans, flats, and a nice flowy top. Target has recently stocked up on some of the cutest maternity clothes, including the top I am wearing today. In addition to spring I have totally been craving floppy hats and fedoras, so I was really excited to find this one at Target as well for less than $17! I have a feeling hats will become an even more essential part of my wardrobe once baby girl is born in May! Only 13 weeks to go!
