If you have been around for awhile, you may remember our weekend in Santa Fe a few years ago. We live less than an hour away, yet we rarely venture up there. As with anything, it is sometimes hard to find the time to fit full day activities in. Last week we finally decided to take a day trip to Santa Fe, and I am so glad that we did! It was the first, but definitely will not be the last.
A Day Trip to Santa Fe
We started off our day trip to Santa Fe by taking a midmorning train from Albuquerque. Once we got there, we stopped by Cowgirl BBQ for a delicious lunch (and a frozen mango margarita because why not!). After lunch, we walked around the plaza and surrounding streets. There are so many fun and unique shops to pop into. The kids also had fun checking out a local candy shop! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, which really helped make the day even more enjoyable.
Pro tip: Make sure to wear an appropriate pair of shoes if you plan to take this day trip! I knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking, so I decided to go with a pair of shoes that could withstand the extra steps. I am typically not a sneakers all day type of girl, but there is something about these men’s sneakers that I am obsessed with. Not only do the Gazelle Bold style come in so many fun colors, they are unbelievable comfortable.
Overall, we had such a great day, and are already planning our next trip! If you’re local to New Mexico – have you ever taken the Railrunner for a day trip to Santa Fe before?
