Driving allows us not only to take our dog, but to stop at places we probably wouldn’t see otherwise. Last year we made a stop in Palm Springs and absolutely fell in love! This year, we wanted to start checking out some of the US National Parks. This led us to planning an epic 24 hours in Joshua Tree.
24 Hours in Joshua Tree
Upon researching where to stay in Joshua Tree, I came across Autocamp. It was definitely the most unique place I have ever stayed. We truly had a blast “glamping” for the night. The Autocamp was very limited on space, so we attempted to minimize what we packed. The weather was a lot cooler and more windy than anticipated, so I was glad I packed our hoodies. I also made sure to bring leggings and my favorite pair of women’s running shoes – my Ultraboosts. They were the perfect shoes to wear around the camp ground, as well as in the park.
Turns out, you can make a trip to Joshua Tree as high or low maintenance as you’d like. Since we were traveling as a family of four, plus our dog, we went the low maintenance route. The areas we could stop in at the actual park were limited due to having our dog with us, but we found an amazing area to explore. It felt like there was an endless amount of rocks to climb. The kids wound up having the best time, and have already asked when we are going back.
If you are in the area, or are hoping to check out more National Parks, I highly recommend Joshua Tree. There seems to be something for everyone there, whether you are looking to hike, climb, or take a casual walk around. The Autocamp was amazing, and I would love to stay at one of their other properties in the future at another National Park.
