Day to Night: How to Style a Denim Jacket

Happy Wednesday! Today I am excited to be teaming up with the lovely Laura of Walking in Memphis in High Heels to share how we styled a denim jacket for both day and night. For my night outfit, I decided to pair my jacket with the most comfortable pants ever from Old Navy. I recently found some great pieces on sale at Old Navy that I am so glad I picked up and these pants are one of them! As many of you mamas out there know, fitting into your old pants, especially jeans, can be pretty close to impossible. When I spotted these at Old Navy I figured I would branch out and grab a pair in the meantime since my jeans and I are on a break (plus, hello elastic waistband!) I would love to say that I actually wore this outfit for a night out, but I am just a bit too obsessed with my little girl right now that I am yet to leave her at night. I have totally worn this outfit minus the heels during the day and love the versatility of a simple black v-neck tee with a pair of patterned pants. I do think this outfit would be perfect though at night to wear out to happy hour or a date night and plan to do just that soon! Workin’ It with Albion Fit

Let’s be real here… I am in no way near the most active person in the world. I wish I was one of those people who loved working out and could say that I get a natural high from exercise, but unfortunately, I don’t. I pretty much only exercise because I know I should. Don’t get me wrong, I have had a few good runs where exercise is a priority and I even begin to enjoy it a little, however since I got pregnant those days seem so far away. My post baby exercise routine is even more pathetic in that it really doesn’t exist. Again, I wish I could sit here and tell you how motivated I am to get back into shape and how much I missed working out, but you guessed it… I am not and I really don’t. Now that I am 9 weeks postpartum, I know I need to be, not just for myself, but for my daughter. It’s totally cliche to say, but wearing new cute workout clothes can definitely be a motivating factor in getting back at it, which is why I am loving this tank from Albion Fit! I have been such a fan of their Antigua Go Capri pants, and was happy to find a tank in the same print. This tank is really supportive and helps keep everything contained (you mamas must know what I’m talking about!), which is essential for me when looking for active wear. Stripes & Tassels

Any other tall ladies out there who struggle with the length of dresses? I feel like it’s so difficult to find dresses that are long enough for me, especially now since having a baby! I recently received this adorable tassel dress from SheIn and knew immediately that it would be best worn as a tunic for me. Whether you wear it as a tunic or a dress, you really can’t go wrong especially since it is less than $10! I have been loving the tassel trend, but have struggled to find a way to incorporate it into my wardrobe until now. Also, can we talk about my accessories for a minute here? I finally got my Jord watch sized and now I’m not sure if I will be taking it off any time soon. If you are a usual reader of the blog, you will know that I also love Rocksbox, and my most recent box certainly did not let me down. Lalabu Soothe Shirt

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I am pretty much in love with baby wearing. My first experience with it was with my Solly Baby Wrap, which is been such a great way to not only relax my baby, but to help free up my hands during the day at home. The wrap can be tricky at first to get used to putting on and putting a newborn in, but I think I have finally gotten the hang of it. Aside from my wrap, my new favorite way to wear Harper is in my Lalabu Soothe Shirt! The first time I wore it was actually when I took these photos, and I kid you not, she slept in it for a good two plus hours afterward. The shirt is not only perfect for nursing, the best part is the little pouch in the front that baby can slip right in and cozy up next to you. The Soothe Shirt is meant to be snug, which really helped me feel like Harper was secure in the shirt and I didn’t need to hold on to her while moving about. She is really long so the top part of the pouch didn’t quite fit on her head like it is meant to, which I guess it ok because if it did you guys wouldn’t be able to see her crazy hair! This girl came out with this hair and it just keeps getting longer… there is really no taming it at this point so we just go with the crazy spiked look! But enough about Harper’s wild hair… if you are looking for a new way to wear your baby, you definitely have to check out Lalabu!

Fourth of July Style with Pink Blush

How is it already July? I can’t believe this year is already half way over, but I am definitely looking forward to the 4th of July this weekend! Holidays seem like they will be so much more fun now having Harper to share them with… I can’t wait to see her in the little stars and stripes dress that her grandma bought for her to wear. I am totally planning on wearing this red maxi dress from Pink Blush on Saturday. Red is typically a color I stray away from, but for some reason I was really drawn to this dress while looking around on Pink Blush. As with the black maxi dress and navy crochet back maxi dress I shared, this red one is also very post-baby friendly and is perfect while nursing. Are you sick of seeing maxi dresses yet? I promise I will try to take a break from maxi dresses for awhile. Dressing a post-baby body has been more challenging than I thought it would be, especially when it’s so hot outside, so maxi dresses are the perfect solution. To all you mamas out there, I would love your ideas and tips on dressing your post-baby bod… what are/were some of your go-to items?

Easy Breezy Crochet Maxi Dress

I have to say that this maxi dress may be my new favorite thing to wear! Like I mentioned in Monday’s post I pretty much live in maxi dresses right now, and this one from Pink Blush Maternity is so perfect for summer!
