My 30th Birthday + Piperlime Giveaway!

I can’t believe my 30th birthday has already come and gone, but I honestly could not have asked for a more amazing weekend! My day was kicked off with a delicious brunch with my husband at The Grove, followed by a mani/pedi with my mom and sister. I almost never get my nails done because I typically prefer to do them myself, but since it was my birthday I thought I would get the full treatment. I knew I wanted the theme of the day to be gold and white, and of course my nails were no exception. In the evening, my family took me to a surprise dinner at The Corn Maiden, which was out of this world! If you are ever in NM, I would highly recommend it for a special occasion. After dinner, my sister set up a birthday party at her house, complete with balloons, macarons, cupcakes, and of course, gifts. My sister got me my absolute favorite Emoji to wear as a necklace (the dancing girls!), and I can’t wait to share it on here soon. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful and thoughtful family to make my day and night so special! I have a feeling my 30’s may be some of the best years yet.

Birthday Girl

It’s my birthday!!! I know I have been mentioning it for weeks now, and I am so excited that it’s finally here. Birthdays are like Christmas to me! I have always been a huge fan of my birthday, which can probably seem selfish to some, but I love having a day where I don’t have to work, I get to spend time with my favorite people, and eat lots of yummy food! I have been planning out what I wanted my birthday to look like for months now via my 30th birthday board on Pinterest. I wanted to be one of those super prepared bloggers who has an adorable post with birthday balloons and a giant tulle skirt that was ready to go live the day of their birthday, but that’s just not real life for me. But don’t worry, my birthday outfit post will be better late than never. I am pumped to finally wear my gold sequin skirt tonight (even though I have not been allowed to know what the plans are for this weekend so I really have no clue where I am wearing this skirt to). 30th Birthday Kick Off in Faux Leather Leggings

As I mentioned in my post on Monday, last Saturday my amazing husband put together a Hollywood Game Night for myself and one of my closest friends for our 30th birthdays. I am a huge fan of the show, and I actually even applied to be on it a few months ago (never heard back though… very sad!) I know from watching the show that one must dress practically for the occasion and you better believe these heels came off during certain games. I am so in love with these faux leather leggings from Lauren Conrad’s line at Kohl’s! The fabric is perfectly thick, so there are no worries about showing off any bumps or imperfections when you’re wearing them… and let’s be real – my girl LC can do no wrong when it comes to clothes or otherwise.

Florals for Fall

It’s finally starting to feel like fall around Albuquerque! Maybe I say that because the Balloon Fiesta kicked off this past weekend or because it’s almost my birthday (!!!). I had such a wonderful weekend… my husband, sister, and friends planned a Hollywood Game Night themed party for myself and one of my closest friends (who happens to be the friend who bought me this adorable purse) for our 30th birthdays. Although my actual birthday isn’t until Friday the 10th, it was so much fun kicking off the celebration on Saturday night with all of my favorite people. I can’t wait to share some pictures from the party with you all later this week! I certainly cannot be the only one who always has to have a birthday week/month…. so tell me, what is your favorite way to celebrate your birthday?

Shades of Blue

Happy October aka the best month of the year! I am so looking forward to the weeks ahead, starting with this weekend when my birthday festivities will officially begin (even though my actual birthday isn’t until the 10th). This year I turn the big 3-0 and I am feeling fairly indifferent about it to be honest. I could never really understand the “OMG I am going to be 30” freak out, and I’m pretty confident that won’t change when the day actually comes for me. I’m just happy it’s almost my birthday! I happened to wear this outfit to a milestone (50th) birthday celebration, which was a ton of fun. I always tend to lean more toward a casual look unless the event calls for something more fancy, and for some reason I was really feeling the idea of blue-on-blue-on-blue this day. So I was pretty much set after I slipped on my trusty distressed boyfriend jeans, my all time favorite MAC lipstick, and my very New Mexico turquoise necklace.

Blue Jean Baby + Nordstrom Giveaway

The last Monday of September… can you believe it? I am sad to see it go, but can’t wait for October aka my birthday month! I am still trying to enjoy the nice weather we have had here lately, as well as the green leaves on trees because I know that won’t be lasting long. They are so stretchy and flattering, and definitely fit true to size. Plus the broken record in me wants to tell you that they will be long enough for all of my tall girls out there!
