Mixed Prints + OASAP Giveaway

Can you believe yesterday was the first day of fall? I am definitely going to miss the warmer summer months, but as I get older I think fall has become my favorite season. I love fall fashion, especially pieces with unique details, such as this top with faux leather sleeves. You know I am a total jeans and t-shirt girl, so I love to mix things up a bit by wearing tops that have a little something special to them. Fall Maxi + JCrew Giveaway!

Black on Black with Pearls

Here we are… the middle of the week! So happy we are getting closer and closer to the weekend. Today I wanted to share an outfit from last week that I wore for our anniversary dinner. We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Indigo Crow. They have the most delicious lobster risotto, which is of course what I had for dinner! We also must talk about the other star of the show: my Chanel pearls. When my husband and I finally set a wedding date (have you ever seen The Five Year Engagement? yeah… that was us!) I knew I wanted a simple, un-embellished dress and a stand out piece of jewelry. Enter: Chanel and my amazing Mom. My Mom gifted these to me as my “something new” for my wedding day. Since I got married, I mainly wear them for our anniversary date night. I feel like they can’t be worn just any old day, but truthfully, I really should wear them more often! I am thinking they will need to be a part of my upcoming 30th birthday outfit, but I will have to see how they look with the sequin skirt I just purchased for the big day!

A Touch of Leopard + Spotlight Weekly Link-Up

TGIT! This week has been a great one for me so far, and I hope it has been just as wonderful for you! On Monday my husband and I drove up to Santa Fe for a little pre-anniversary date to see the one and only Aziz Ansari. It was at a place called the Lensic Theater, which I had never been to or even heard of before this show. It was amazing! Such a cool and intimate space, and Aziz was as hilarious as ever. If you saw my post from yesterday you will know we celebrated our third wedding anniversary. Man does time fly! We had so much fun kicking off the week doing something that we both enjoy and that is different for us (it’s rare that any good comedians come to New Mexico). We arrived to the venue at the perfect time to (quickly) enjoy the sunset and snaps a few blog photos. From there, the week just kept getting better and better! Today is another exciting day because I am co-hosting the Spotlight Weekly Link Up with the lovely Elle of Living in Color Style and Jacqueline of Stylin in St. Louis. White Blank Page

Today is a very important day… it marks three years since I married my husband and it’s my Dad’s birthday! Our wedding day was so wonderful in and of itself, and was even more special when we decided to share it with my Dad. I wanted to take some time today to share some of my favorite photos and moments from our wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture the day for us, and I can honestly say every single thing during the day went off without a hitch. I always say I wish Pinterest was around when I got married, but looking back at these photos, I realized that is not exactly true. We were able to design a day that was 100% us, from the floral arrangements with our favorite flowers to hand selecting each song that was played during the ceremony and reception. Here’s to many more years together Mr. Rutland… and happy birthday Dad! I couldn’t ask for two better men to have in my life!

Another Day, Another Tunic with Hippie Chick Boutique

Monday again! I am actually really excited about today because not only do I get to share this adorable tunic from Hippie Chick Boutique with you, but my husband and I are going to see AZIZ ANSARI tonight in Santa Fe! I am already planning my outfit as I type… beyond excited!! Should I say excited again? Excited! I’ll definitely be sharing more on Wednesday, which is another great day because it will be our 3 year anniversary. Lots of good stuff happening this week! 
But now back to this super cute tunic…. it is generally meant to be worn as a dress, however that was definitely not going to happy for me due to, you guessed it, my height. Even though it’s not quite long enough as a dress, I absolutely love the way it fits as a tunic. It also comes in a red & black version if blue isn’t quite your color. Two tunics for me in one week? I think I have found my new fall staple! I am also obsessed with these Hue denim leggings (yes, jeggings). They are totally my go-to in the fall and winter, especially with tall boots because I am so lucky to have to thick legs that don’t fit properly with regular jeans and boots. So for all you girls with thick legs/calves, make sure to invest in a pair of these leggings, they will be your new best friend.
