Summer to Fall Transition Pieces

I was preparing my September (!!!) calendar at work yesterday when I realized that in a few short weeks it will officially be fall. Why does it feel like the older I get, the more quickly each year goes by? And why are pumpkin spice lattes being sold already at Starbucks? Don’t get me wrong, drinking a hot PSL while wearing a chunky infinity scarf sounds amazing, however sometimes it’s hard to think of fall when it’s still 90 degrees out. On a recent Target trip I found these leopard slip on shoes, and couldn’t pass them up considering they: 1) were on sale for $19 and 2) almost identical to the Steven Madden version I have been dying for but unwilling to spend $80 on. Target always saves the day! Since I couldn’t wait until the weather cooled down to wear these leopard beauties, I decided to pair them with some pieces that are also on my transition to fall list, such as my Old Navy vest and dark denim. This outfit is quite the leap from Monday’s post!

Savoring Summer with Pink Blush

I can’t believe that it’s almost Labor Day! Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely looking forward to fall, but I am always sad to see summer go. If I could, I would live somewhere that I could always sport a version of my summer uniform – jeans, sandals, and a sleeveless top. I wore this outfit about a week ago when I went to Denver for an extended weekend trip. It was perfect for exploring, which included a trip to the Coors Brewery in Golden, followed by running to our car in the pouring rain after our tour. This top is so roomy and comfortable, which also came in handy for all of the food (and adult beverages) we consumed throughout the day. I mean, what else are vacations for? Anyway, back to the clothing… if you have not heard of or checked out Pink Blush yet, what are you waiting for? Navy Jumpsuit

Never in a million years did I think I could pull off a jumpsuit. Jumpsuits and rompers just don’t seem to work as well on us tall girls, especially girls who are tall and have curves. The lovely Carmen at Loves Creation was kind enough to send me this navy jumpsuit and it happened to arrive just in time for my trip to Denver last weekend. To say I was thrilled when I tried it on and loved the fit is an understatement. The fact that it was comfortable to wear all night long and practically felt like I was wearing pajamas was a major bonus! Weekend Casual

I’ll be honest… these are not my favorite photos and will probably be a post a look back on and think “why did I think that looked cute?” I definitely can’t pull off the windblown look, which is unfortunate because the wind sure knows how to kick up the minute I am ready to take outfit pictures. There are really only two reasons I posted them: 1) I didn’t have any extras in my arsenal, and 2) I mean, can we talk about this background? If you ever wondered what New Mexico looks like, take a good look! Aside from the wind, it was a beautiful day out. There is nothing like an Albuquerque sky!
