The Weekly Style Edit: Floral Print Jacket

As I am typing this, I am realizing that I need to wake up in less than 5 hours to catch my flight to Nashville. Leave it to me to wait until the last minute to complete everything! Regardless, I am so excited for my trip and to finally get a chance to check out a city I’ve never been to before. I’m glad to see that the weather will be nice, and plan to take a ton of pictures while I’m there, so be on the lookout for those!

Onto the real reason of today’s post… Nothing screams spring more than a floral print jacket! Being surrounded by a bunch of gorgeous flowers that just bloomed also helps. How amazing are these lavender blooms behind me? My husband and I ventured out to Hotel Albuquerque for the photos for today’s post, and I was just blown away by the view! The Weekly Style Edit: Black Jumpsuit

Happy Thursday friends! Let’s just start by saying that a black jumpsuit is something that every woman should have in her closet. You guys know I love any piece of clothing that is black, but there is something extra special about a jumpsuit. I’m starting to think that a jumpsuit might be one of the most versatile pieces that I have in my closet. I shared this one last year with my favorite pair of flatform sandals (that are back in stock this year!), and I love it as much now as I did then.

For the last edition of The Weekly Style Edit, Megan from the Fashionista Momma and I shared how we styled stripes. Today we are clearly taking on the jumpsuit trend, since it is huge for spring. I actually don’t own too many other jumpsuits, but every time I put one on I feel like I need to pick up a few more. This one that I am wearing today might as well be a pair of pajamas because it is SO comfortable. If you haven’t tried out this trend, you are definitely missing out. I think a jumpsuit can be so flattering, no matter how short, tall, curvy, petite, etc. you are!

The Weekly Style Edit Link Up: Stripes and Lace

Man this week is flying by! Does anyone else feel that way? Maybe because I have some fun things planned the next few days I’ve been looking forward to. I can’t believe it’s almost the weekend. I’m so glad it’s going to be warming up here the next few days. I’ve been dying to wear this stripes and lace top on repeat, but it’s been way too cold until now. I thought it was way too pretty to cover up with a jacket. I have a feeling I may be wearing it again this weekend for brunch with friends!

Fun fact about the location of today’s photos: I have taken pictures here for the last 3 years in a row at this exact time. Look at the gorgeous blooms behind me! Now it has turned into a bit of a joke between my husband and I. We basically count down the days until these trees bloom. There is only a short window that they look like this, so we have to act fast! Last year I shared an outfit featuring the best wedges for spring. The wedges are available again this year and I’m debating getting them in a second color.

The Weekly Style Edit Link Up: Hunter Boots

Happy Thursday! The weekend is right around the corner, and it’ll be a fun one since it’s also St. Patrick’s day. St Patrick’s day definitely looks a little different these days than it used to. Oh the stories I could tell haha! We have a few little family activities planned that I’m looking forward to, including planning out a garden that we want to get started! Today’s outfit is definitely appropriate for that, or just a rainy day like we had a few days ago. I’ve shared my Hunter boots on here before in the fall, and still love them as much as ever even though it’s warming up outside. I was told I gave off farmer vibes in this outfit, but I really love the look of overalls and Hunter boots!

The Weekly Style Edit Link Up: Striped Sweater

Happy Tuesday everyone! I’ve officially jumped on the blogger band wagon with this striped sweater, but I just couldn’t resist! I don’t shop at H&M too often, but happened to be there a few weekends ago. When I spotted this striped sweater in person after seeing it on every blogger, I just had to have it. Although pink isn’t usually my color, I couldn’t resist these stripes. This sweater is surprisingly lightweight and so soft! Paired with my favorite Old Navy Rockstar jeans, it makes the ideal winter to spring transitional outfit.

Date Night Style // High-Waisted Jeans

high waisted jeans madewell #madewell #highwaistedjeans #datenightoutfit I’ve shared this pair of high-waisted jeans before for a more casual daytime look, but today I wanted to switch it up. I thought it would be fun to style these jeans for a low key date night look. Now I’ll be honest, this outfit hasn’t actually made it on a date yet. I am, however, already planning to wear it in a few weeks. My husband and I have tickets to see one of our favorite bands, The Avett Brothers. My hubby laughed at me while taking these pictures when I told him that I already had my outfit planned for our date night. Date nights around here are a lot less frequent than they were before Harper was born, so we always try to make the best of them!

Maybe it’s because I’m in my 30’s and am a mom, but when I think of date night style, I always lean toward a more casual look. That’s clearly my style to begin with, but I truly believe to enjoy a date night, one must be comfortable. You have to wear what makes you feel confident and at your best! Whether that’s a dress and a sky-high pair of heels, or a pair of jeans and flats, you have to do what works for you! Not to sound old fashioned, but it’s also nice to consider what your partner likes seeing you in. Mine has always been a fan of a good pair of jeans and flat shoes, so I usually meet him somewhere in the middle. After all, relationships are all about compromise, right?
