Well hello there! Things have been a bit slow around here, but I am excited because I have a lot of fun posts coming your way in the next few weeks. I am so excited to bring back my beauty hits and misses today! I didn’t post one in February because pregnancy exhaustion is so real guys! I honestly did not have the energy, so I figured I’d combine the last 2 months. Today I am bringing you some products I tried in both February and March, and most of them were hits!
The first product I am excited to finally have jumped on the bandwagon for is the Chi Paint Party Flat Iron (c/o). I have never owned one because #straighthairproblems, but had always wanted to try one to curl my hair. I’m so glad I finally did! It helps create the most beautiful waves that stayed in tact all day long. This exact iron is currently on sale for under $80, which is such a great deal if you’re looking for a new straighter!
I have been trying out two new nighttime moisturizers, and have fallen in love with both. First is the E.l.f. Hello Hydration cream (c/o), which happens to be only $12. At this price this moisturizer is an absolute must have! It feels so silky, and is absorbed into the skin quickly. I have also been loving the DermaE Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer (c/o). This one has stronger scent to it, but is equally as moisturizing and luxurious feeling.
If you’re looking for a good body moisturizer, the Purlisse Coconut Oil + Orange Blossom Body Butter (c/o) smells and feels like a dream. If you like the scent of creamsicles, you’ll love this! I have been using it every day, and have even been using it as a belly moisturizer for the bump. The last hit is the Glo Skin Beauty Power C Serum (c/o). I have been using this every morning after I get out of the shower. This product is definitely a splurge, but has made my skin feel so much brighter. I have also noticed some of my dark spots/acne scars are lighter, which makes it a huge hit in my book!
As always, I’m super sad that a few products made it to my misses list. I really wanted to love both of these! I actually purchased the Pravana The Perfect Blonde Masque at the recommendation of my hair stylist. It was something I really wanted to love, but have just not been that impressed. My hair feels only slightly less brassy after using it, but not as much as I had hoped for. Another miss was the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser (c/o). It smells great, however for some reason my face doesn’t feel super clean after using it. I don’t feel like it’s great at removing makeup, which is what I look for in a cleanser (especially if I’m using it at night!)
This post is sponsored by Physicians Formula. All opinions are my own.It finally feels like spring is here in Albuquerque, and I couldn’t be more excited! As soon as the temperatures start to rise, I usually get the itch to go through my makeup drawer and add some new products. Glowing, dewy skin is always a good idea, but for me, spring is the ideal time to incorporate this look into your makeup routine. I recently had the chance to try some of the new Physicians Formula products that are exclusive to Walgreens, and wanted to share how I used them to create an easy glowing makeup look for spring.
Any beautiful makeup look always has to start with skincare! I am loving the Rosé All Day Tri-Phase Beauty Elixir because it instantly preps, brightens and hydrates the skin. It feels a bit sticky at first, but dries down quickly and is the perfect base. I then follow that up with one pump of the Softlight Blurring Primer. I’ve been talking about this primer on my IG stories since I got it because I am SO impressed! My skin looks so much smoother, and it helps reduce the look of my fine lines and wrinkles. I have never really found a primer that I feel like makes a difference, but this stuff is truly a game changer. For today’s look I used The Healthy Foundation SPF 20 in the shade Light Neutral 3. This foundation is super lightweight, and offers a nice medium coverage. Since I am still pretty pale from the winter months, this shade is perfect for me. Throughout the spring and summer, when my skin gets a little darker, I love the option of using the Shade Adjuster Foundation Drops. It comes with both the light and dark drops to adjust your foundation as needed. The Mineral Glow Pearls Highlighter is the perfect way to finish off your look and to achieve a gorgeous glow! Highlighters can be tricky for me – sometimes they’re way too pigmented and other times not pigmented enough. I’ve always loved the Butter Highlighter, but am now finding myself reaching for the Mineral Glow highlighter instead! It adds the perfect amount of iridescent brightness to the skin, and can easily be built up to achieve the perfect glow for spring!
January seemed to be a month focused on trying new hair products and a few new skincare products. Spoiler alert: all of the skincare products were huge hit for me! They also happen to be made my a few of my favorite skincare brands. I am actually trying out a few of their other products for February, so stay tuned. There was only one miss for me this month, and I’m so sad it was because I really wanted to love it. But first, the hits…
Glo Skin Beauty Phyto-Active Conditioning Oil (c/o): This product is actually not even available on their site yet, but is coming soon (March 4th!). I’m here to tell you that you need to pick this oil up when it’s available! I add 2-3 drops to my nighttime moisturizer and it adds a little extra hydration. It’s perfect for the winter time, or if you have dry skin and need a little boost.
Yensa Beauty Pumpkin Turmeric Polishing Mask (c/o): You guys know I love me some Purlisse beauty products, so naturally I was excited to receive some products from their sister brand, Yensa. This polishing mask smells amazing and is the perfect way to switch up your nighttime routine. I usually try to mask 2-3 times a week, and this is a great option if you’re looking for a little exfoliation.
First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser: SO. GOOD! I first tried this after getting a sample size and immediately fell in love. A little bit goes a long way too. I typically use this as my morning cleanser and keep it in the shower. My face feels so smooth and clean after using it, and I will definitely be repurchasing this one over and over!
Kristin Ess Wide Tooth Comb: I originally bought this comb because let’s be honest: it’s pretty and makes a great photo prop. I also bought it because Kristin Ess can do no wrong in my book! Once I actually used it, I realized it’s actually pretty amazing. Since my hair is fine, it can get tangled easily, and this comb is great for my wet hair.
Living Proof Dry Volume Blast: I am so sad this one is a miss for me. I feel like I say this often with the misses, but this definitely isn’t a terrible product. For the price ($29) I feel like my Kristin Ess working texture spray does the same job and is half the price. I’ve seen so many bloggers rave about this Living Proof product, but I’m just not convinced it’s worth the hype.
This post is sponsored by Gillette. All thoughts and opinions are my own.If you’re anything like me, you have been using Gillette razors since around the time you first began shaving. I literally cannot remember using any other brand – isn’t that crazy? When I found out that Gillette was starting a subscription service (think a shave club for women!), I was intrigued. As a working mom, I am always looking for ways to simplify my life. Even if that means one less thing I have to include on my Target shopping list!
Ladies, especially my fellow mamas, who has time to run to the store when you realize you’re out of blades? The worst is that falling on a day where you actually need to shave for an occasion or event. Nobody’s got time for that! I certainly don’t need to shave every single day, but if you feel like you do, this subscription box has got us both covered.
The latest innovation from Gillette is their Venus Direct where you can choose a custom handle, blade type, and extra features for your shave plan. I love that the refills are sent based on how often you shave. They are also delivered directly to your door with free shipping. Even better, plans start as low as $10 a month and can be cancelled at any time!
Not only is this subscription service super affordable and convenient, it delivers the same great quality Gillette Venus razors that we all know and love. Every woman is different, which is why I love the idea of a customizable subscription box! If you’re ready to simplify your life like I am, be sure to check out Gillette Venus Direct here!
