Today I am so extremely excited to be sharing an outfit that I had originally shared on Instagram yesterday for People.com and Old Navy’s 50 Styles, 50 States campaign. Being a native New Mexican and an avid Old Navy lover (exhibit A, B, and C), it took me no time to find the perfect outfit that I felt represented my home state. New Mexico is all about bright colors and bold statements. If you are from here or have ever visited, you know the hotter the chile, the better! You are bound to find something turquoise in every local shop, and we typically have more sunny days than cloudy days.

I was fortunate to live in California for a few years, but always knew I would wind up back in Albuquerque eventually. Albuquerque definitely promotes a laid back style. It is perfect for me because I am a total jeans and a tee type of girl. I have so many pairs of Rockstar jeans! They are by far the most comfortable and flattering fit on me, and are perfect to chase after Harper in. They are also super affordable, which you know I love! When I spotted this tassel front swing blouse in this vibrant orange shade I was immediately drawn to it. It had New Mexico written all over it, especially when paired with this turquoise necklace.

The Weekly Style Edit Link Up: Ankle Boots & Zaful Off The Shoulder Top

TGIF! Even though it was a short week this week, I have to say it felt like one of the longest I’ve had in awhile. Since I was out of town last weekend, I felt like I was playing catch up all week long, so I’m definitely hoping to relax this weekend! Today I’m excited to back with Megan from The Fashionista Momma for our Weekly Style Edit link up! Since fall is around the corner, we thought it would be the perfect time to share a look with our favorite ankle boots. Since I bought these perforated ankle boots I can’t stop wearing them! They are a lot more versatile than I had originally thought, and I love incorporating them into so many different outfits. Navy Lace Dress

Last week I shared my shopping experience with the new David’s Bridal store that opened here in Albuquerque, and today I am so excited to share the beautiful navy lace dress that I found! After browsing through a lot of their special occasion styles, I found myself gravitating toward all of the navy dresses. The wedding I will be wearing this dress to is at the end of the month, so I felt like navy was the perfect color! I also love anything lace, especially in the fall and winter months.

Before heading to the store, I did a little online browsing and originally had my eye on this black lace two piece set. I found out once I arrived to the store that they did not carry the Cheers Cynthia Rowley collection, however they did seem to have a lot of similar options. When my stylist brought me this navy lace dress to try on, I immediately fell in love. I’m usually not one to wear a lot of short dresses, but I feel completely comfortable in this dress thanks to the flowy lace overlay that extends the hemline right above the knee. I can’t wait to dance the night away with my hubby and friends at the wedding soon!

The Weekly Style Edit: Fall Florals

Happy Friday & happy Labor Day weekend! Who else is beyond ready for a long weekend like I am? You may remember from last week’s packing post that today I am off to San Diego for a few days for a bachelorette party! I am equally as excited as I am nervous to be leaving Harper for the first time, but I know she’s in good hands. After checking the weather before leaving, I realized that it’s actually going to be a lot cooler in San Diego than I originally anticipated, so I decided to add this super cute cold shoulder floral top that I’m wearing today to my suitcase because I just can’t get enough of it! I haven’t shopped at Express in ages, and randomly stopped in on a whim recently. I immediately spotted this top and knew I had to have it! It’s a little shorter than I usually prefer, but other than that, it’s the perfect end of summer blouse. I have been holding on to it for a few weeks, knowing that the theme for this week’s link up was fall florals. Last month, Megan from The Fashionista Momma began our monthly style edit link up, however we quickly decided that we wanted to make it a weekly thing instead, so from here on out we will be posting The Weekly Style Edit every Friday. Shopping For a Special Occasion with David’s Bridal

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to go check out the newest David’s Bridal that recently opened here in Albuquerque. I will be attending a wedding in about a month and needed to find the perfect dress for the occasion. I actually haven’t been to a David’s Bridal store in years… 5 years to be exact, since that’s when I was out shopping for my own wedding dress. When it comes to finding a special occasion dress the options can sometimes be limited in New Mexico. When I found out that David’s Bridal had opened a new store in the Uptown area, I was excited to check it out! I had booked an appointment prior to going in, which I would definitely recommend if you are looking for the perfect dress for any special occasion. When I first walked into the store, I was immediately struck by the chic decor, beautiful hardwood flooring, and gorgeous dresses that were on display. The store definitely has a modern aesthetic that totally set the stage for a very fun and memorable experience.

I had so much fun browsing all of their special occasion dresses, and love that each dress comes in a variety of sizes, ranging from petite to plus. Although there were so many different silhouettes, lengths, styles, and colors to choose from, I pretty much went in to my appointment knowing that I wanted a short dress in a darker color. I found so many gorgeous navy blue dresses, I couldn’t wait to start trying them on. I am a sucker for lace, which was perfect because that seemed to be the most popular fabric of choice throughout the store. I had so much fun trying on various styles, and loved the large mirrors throughout the fitting room area. I was even able to try on a few different pairs of shoes before finding the perfect pair to go with my dress. The new David’s Bridal store has everything you need for a complete head-to-toe look, including shoes, handbags, and jewelry. Thankfully the dress I picked out fit perfectly, but I loved knowing that there was an expert in-house alterations specialist available if needed.

This gorgeous navy lace dress was by far my favorite, and I knew I couldn’t leave without it. I can’t wait to show you guys the full look next week, and to wear this gorgeous dress to my friend’s wedding soon! Next weekend I am going to be leaving Harper for the first time for more than a 24 hour period and I can’t lie… I’m totally nervous about it! I know she will be more than ok at home with my husband, but I also know that I am going to miss her like crazy. As any girl would, I have basically been planning out my outfits for each day for a few weeks now. I usually try everything on that I plan to pack with me and put together full outfits, however I still always overpack! I go into packing with the, “you never know” motto, even though it always seems to bite me in the ass when it comes time to weigh my suitcase (ha!) Today I’m sharing some of my top picks to pack for a girls’ weekend getaway. I will be going to San Diego, but this packing list would be appropriate for so many different warm locations. Of course this isn’t all I’ll be bringing, but it’s definitely the essentials since I’ll only be going for 3 days.
