Can you believe that this is the last week of September? I feel like I’m always saying something similar at the end of every month, but it’s really been shocking to me how quickly this year has flown by. The past few days here have actually begun to feel like fall, with cooler temperatures and the leaves changing color. Although I’m not completely ready to say goodbye to the heat, I am excited to start wearing boots and long sleeves on a more regular basis!
I recently shared an outfit featuring this Zaful off the shoulder top, and I have to say I love this floral print tunic just as much. Both are a bit oversized, which is perfect for the fall because they can both be paired with leggings or skinny jeans. The Weekly Style Edit Link Up: Denim

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week so far, and are ready for the weekend like I am! Today Megan from The Fashionista Momma and I are sharing our favorite denim looks for The Weekly Style Edit link up, so of course I had to take advantage and incorporate double denim in my outfit! I’m sure you all know by now that I could basically live in denim, whether it’s a pair of skinny jeans, boyfriend shorts for summer, or my favorite black distressed pair. I have actually had this denim jacket since high school (it’s from Hollister, haha!), but it’s just too good to let go of. It’s perfectly broken in and so easy to throw on over pretty much anything. I’m also excited to finally break in my new pair of Sam Edelman boots that I have literally had on my wish list for years. I happened to find them on Amazon for $65, which seemed way too good to be true, but here they are! Be prepared to see them a lot around here.

Dandelion Print Wrap Dress

If you’ve been a reader of Middle of Somewhere for awhile, you may remember that I shared a gorgeous herringbone cape from eShakti almost 2 years ago when I was pregnant. Now that fall and winter are right around the corner, I have a feeling I’ll be pulling that cape out again and again! Thankfully the weather isn’t quite cool enough yet for the cape, but it has been perfect enough to continue to wear flowy dresses and open toe shoes! I’m always on the hunt for midi and maxi dresses, especially dresses that can be worn for various occasions. As soon as I spotted this wrap dress from eShakti, I knew it had to be mine. I love that eShakti allows you to customize every one of their pieces, and upon ordering, I decided that I would prefer a cap sleeve versus the longer stock sleeve of the dress. Calling all tall and/or curvy girls, this dress is for you! I’m actually thinking I might wear it for my birthday that’s coming up in a few weeks, paired with my red Sole Society sandals that I wore in my previous post.

The Weekly Style Edit Link Up: Stripes

TGIF! Today I’m back with Megan from The Fashionista Momma for The Weekly Style Edit link up to share with you how we styled stripes!

Striped pieces are definitely a closet staple of mine, and something I probably wear at least 1-2 times per week. I feel like I tend to wear more stripes in the fall and winter, and love pairing a good striped tee with a plaid blazer to liven things up a bit! Speaking of livening things up, can we talk about these Sole Society sandals? You might remember that I originally purchased them to take to San Diego a few weeks ago for a bachelorette weekend with my friends (see my full packing list here). I wore them all night for our first night out and was shocked at how comfortable they were. Trust me, this mama does not wear heels much anymore, and I was able to wear them for hours, not only to walk around in, but to dance in! They also come in black and blush, and I’m a little tempted to buy another pair because they’re that good!

Today I am so extremely excited to be sharing an outfit that I had originally shared on Instagram yesterday for People.com and Old Navy’s 50 Styles, 50 States campaign. Being a native New Mexican and an avid Old Navy lover (exhibit A, B, and C), it took me no time to find the perfect outfit that I felt represented my home state. New Mexico is all about bright colors and bold statements. If you are from here or have ever visited, you know the hotter the chile, the better! You are bound to find something turquoise in every local shop, and we typically have more sunny days than cloudy days.
I was fortunate to live in California for a few years, but always knew I would wind up back in Albuquerque eventually. Albuquerque definitely promotes a laid back style. It is perfect for me because I am a total jeans and a tee type of girl. I have so many pairs of Rockstar jeans! They are by far the most comfortable and flattering fit on me, and are perfect to chase after Harper in. They are also super affordable, which you know I love! When I spotted this tassel front swing blouse in this vibrant orange shade I was immediately drawn to it. It had New Mexico written all over it, especially when paired with this turquoise necklace.

The Weekly Style Edit Link Up: Ankle Boots & Zaful Off The Shoulder Top

TGIF! Even though it was a short week this week, I have to say it felt like one of the longest I’ve had in awhile. Since I was out of town last weekend, I felt like I was playing catch up all week long, so I’m definitely hoping to relax this weekend! Today I’m excited to back with Megan from The Fashionista Momma for our Weekly Style Edit link up! Since fall is around the corner, we thought it would be the perfect time to share a look with our favorite ankle boots. Since I bought these perforated ankle boots I can’t stop wearing them! They are a lot more versatile than I had originally thought, and I love incorporating them into so many different outfits. I think next I need to try them with a cute fall dress and an anorak jacket, like my new favorite one from Who What Wear for Target. What is your favorite way to style ankle boots?
