Faux Leather Bomber Jacket: The Weekly Style Edit

We are just a few days away from the weekend and I’m here for it! Although this weekend marks the beginning of December, and to be honest I don’t think I’m ready for that. I know I need to be thinking of Christmas, but for some reason I’m not there yet. I mean we did start decorating this week, but gift wise my brain is stuck. I’ve actually been more focused on my 12 days of giveaways that I am putting together for you guys and I am SO EXCITED!

More on the giveaways next week, so for now let’s focus this outfit. Who else loves a good pair of black distressed jeans? I recently received these from Royalty for Me, which is a new-to-me denim brand. You may have seen me share another pair of their jeans over on Instagram earlier this week. I have to say I’m definitely a fan! They also sent me this super cute faux leather bomber jacket that’s perfect for fall and winter.

Expressing Gratitude for Thanksgiving: The Weekly Style Edit

Happy Thanksgiving friends! I can’t even believe I am typing those words. This year has absolutely flown by, and here we are kicking off the holiday season! Instead of the usual outfit post today, Megan and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to express gratitude for the things in our lives that we feel thankful for. I did have to throw in a few outfits for fun from previous posts, and they’re all linked at the end for you.

Expressing Gratitude for Thanksgiving:

My husband: This blog here would not be around if it weren’t for this guy. He encourages me to take changes and try new things. He also supports everything I do, and has helped me take changes I would never do on my own. I know it sounds cheesy, but I really couldn’t imagine life without him.
My baby girl, Harpie: No shocker here that this little girl is my world. When I was pregnant, before we knew the sex, I not-so-secretly expressed that I wanted a girl. She is definitely my mini me, for better and for worse. She keeps me on my toes, and has given me a love I could have never imagined.
My family: My other biggest supporters and basically my favorite people to be around. I am so thankful to have an amazing family in my life who I know will always be there for me. They are so helpful and loving. The amount of gratitude I have for them really can’t be put into words.
Home: There are many people who don’t have a place to call home. I am so thankful and feel privileged to have a home of my own. Our house is small, but is bursting with love and laughter and is perfect for our family.
Health: I have experienced first hand that many people are not as fortunate in this regard. I have the ability to make choices to ensure my health, and that is something I definitely do not take for granted.
My friends: I am grateful to have a few groups of close friends in my life who are basically family. You know who you are, and my life without be complete with you!
My jobs: Sometimes I get overly stressed and complain that I have too many jobs. Although I do have multiple jobs, it’s definitely not a bad problem to have. Best part is, I love each and every one of them. Each job allows me to tap into a different part of myself, help others, and help myself in the process.
Blog: Piggybacking off of number 6, I have to express gratitude for where this blog has taken me this year.
YOU: If you are reading this right now, I am beyond thankful for you. If you follow me on any form of social media, thank you! Without you, I wouldn’t even be typing this right now!
My planner: This one might seem silly, but I couldn’t keep my life straight without it. Given number 7, I’d lose my mind without it. I get shit for having a paper planner, but let me tell you, that’s where it’s at! Striped Cozy Sweater: The Weekly Style Edit

Happy almost Friday friends! I can’t even believe that a week from today is Thanksgiving! Do you have any fun plans? I think we are actually going to have two Thanksgiving’s this year, one with my family and one with my in-laws. Who could pass up two Thanksgiving dinners? I’m actually more of a side dish and dessert fan than a turkey fan, but either way it should be fun!

In picking out my outfit for this week’s The Weekly Style Edit, I clearly had some festive vibes in mind. Since today is all about sweaters, I couldn’t wait to share this cute striped cozy sweater. I have been wearing it non-stop, and am pretty sure I will actually be wearing it again for Thanksgiving. Also, can we have a moment for these velvet heels? I recently placed an Old Navy order and decided to give these a try. I’M OBSESSED! I can’t wait to wear them throughout the holiday season.

Since next week is Thanksgiving, Megan and I decided to focus on gratitude instead of a specific outfit trend. We will still be having our link up, so be sure to join us today, as well as next week. Black Overalls for Fall: The Weekly Style Edit

When overalls made a comeback, I wasn’t sure I could pull them off. I was worried I’d never find a pair that would be long enough, and those they would accentuate my curves in some unfortunate ways. I have worn this pair of overalls more than once in various blog posts because I love them so much! I actually bought this exact pair last year, and they still hold up. They have faded a bit, but I’m actually kind of digging it!

I love that overalls can be styled with so many different types of tops and shoes. Of course I gravitate toward styling them more causally, but you could easily dress overalls up. Throw on a pair of heels and a pretty lace top underneath and you’re good to go. I also love wearing mine no matter what season it is, but they feel especially perfect in the fall.

Gray Ankle Boots: The Weekly Style Edit

Happy first day of November! I can’t even believe I just typed that because seriously, where the heck has this year gone? We aren’t big Halloween fans, but did have a really good day yesterday. Would you believe my child has never been trick or treating? We asked her if she wanted to this year, but she said she wanted to hand out candy at home instead (my kind of girl!). She also opted out of dressing up as a witch like she originally planned (again, my kind of girl haha!). Now it’s November and we are onto bigger and better things aka Thanksgiving and Christmas!

On the subject of Thanksgiving, wouldn’t today’s outfit be the perfect holiday look? You guys know my Old Navy Rockstar jeans are a staple of mine, and they’re definitely comfy enough to sit around in all day. This pair is the regular length, and is perfect for these gorgeous new Clarks boots that I received! I don’t own any gray ankle boots, so I was really excited to give these a try. I think they will be the perfect ankle boots to get me through the fall and winter.

The Perfect Lace Cami: The Weekly Style Edit

Ever have those weeks where you aren’t quite sure what day it is? I swear I thought it was Thursday a few times this week. It clearly wasn’t. Now it’s finally here, and thank goodness. If you’ve been following my IG stories (@lindsayrutland) you may have seen that were are completely re-doing our guest room and man, that’s all that’s been on my mind. It all has to be complete by this weekend, and I can’t wait to show you how it turned out!

Since it’s been a bit of a hectic week, I’ve been living in some of my go-to pieces that can be worn a million different ways. I wore this lace cami a few weeks ago paired with a plaid blazer, and it’s back today. This time with my absolute favorite recent purchase – the sweater blazer! This blazer was a bit of a splurge for me, and now I’m feeling like I need to splurge on a second color #sorrynotsorry. I am COMPLETELY obsessed. I have already worn it so many different ways, but this outfit today is definitely my #1.

This lace cami is also super versatile, and can basically be worn as a layering piece for any outift. It’s great for fall, and the best part is it’s under $15!
