I have been all about shopping for some fall staple pieces lately. Oddly enough, the temperatures here have been thinking it’s winter. To say I was freezing while taking these pictures is an understatement. I must have looked like the biggest loser holding my jacket instead of wearing it haha! It’s all in the name of blogging because I am saving this amazing sweater blazer for another day.
Let’s talk about this top instead. This rust gathered sleeve top from Madewell is SO GOOD. Before I ordered it, I wasn’t sure I would love the color on, but boy was I wrong. The material is so soft! I will say the only con is that the sleeves aren’t long enough for me because #tallgirlproblems, but what else is new. I had to look past the sleeves because overall it’s a great top. It’s also on major sale today, and comes in two other colors if rust isn’t you thing.
Rust is the trend Megan from The Fashionista Momma and I decided to go with for this week’s The Weekly Style Edit link up. We would love for you to link up one of your favorite posts from the week, and hop around to meet some new blogger friends!

Yesterday was my birthday, and I have to say it was one of my favorites yet. I spent the day with my family, and it was super low key in the very best way. We ate lots of delicious food, and even spent some time at the pumpkin patch. I was talking to someone at work the other day about getting older. She had mentioned that she didn’t look forward to birthday’s anymore, after I had said that I have always loved mine. For some people, getting older is a negative thing. I truly feel like I’m in such a good place in my life right now that getting older doesn’t worry me.

If you watched my IG stories a few days ago (@lindsayrutland) you may have seen the saga around this outfit post. Coming back from being away for almost a week has been pretty rough, and let’s just say when it rains it pours. When I took these photos it literally poured. We had to wait it out a bit, and it was actually still raining when these were taken. My hair looks progressively worse in each photo haha! The important thing is that they got done, and we actually have been getting some much needed rain.

Happy Thursday friends! Today I am actually out of town in Virginia visiting my sister and her family. 2018 was definitely the year of traveling to new places for me! First it was Nashville in April,

When it comes to my style since having a baby, my ultimate mom uniform is all about comfort! You all know I

Happy Thursday friends! It’s been another crazy week around here, so TGIT! We have made a lot of progress on our DIY shower renovation, and are hoping to grout this weekend. Once we are done with that, we just have to wait for the shower door to come in and get installed. Then we will be done (all the praise hands!)
