Striped Button Front Top: The Weekly Style Edit

Happy Thursday friends! It’s been another crazy week around here, so TGIT! We have made a lot of progress on our DIY shower renovation, and are hoping to grout this weekend. Once we are done with that, we just have to wait for the shower door to come in and get installed. Then we will be done (all the praise hands!)

This last week my husband and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary and my dad’s birthday. I actually wore this outfit out to dinner for the birthday celebration. I have had this JCrew striped button front for about 6 months now, and I can’t believe I haven’t shared it on here yet! It has been the perfect lightweight button front top to wear throughout the spring and summer, and until recently, I thought I might have to hang it up for fall. Then I got this great duster cardigan in the mail and that changed everything! Be prepared to see this cardigan a few more times – it is a new favorite!

Black Heels to Wear into Fall: The Weekly Style Edit

You know that feeling when you find the perfect pair of shoes? I probably own about 10 pairs that I keep in heavy rotation, and these shoes are one of them. They are the perfect black heels to wear into fall! My love for these shoes has not gone away since I bought them earlier in the summer. I first shared them with a polka dot midi dress, and more recently with a black boho dress from my trip to Atlanta. Today they’re back with black jeans and my go-to Madewell top.

The Central tops from Madewell are becoming to be a new closet staple. It started with the mint stripe top over the summer, and I think it’s going to be all downhill (for my wallet) from here. In terms of sizing, I have both my normal size (medium) and a size down. The one I am wearing today is actually a small, and still fits with extra room to spare. These tops are especially flattering if you have a larger bust, or are a nursing mama!

August Beauty Hits and Misses

I’m pretty proud of myself for getting up my picks from August within the first few days of September. If you read my previous hits and misses, you may know it was taking me a little longer than I wanted to get them up. Now I’m not saying I’m going to be able to do this every month, but here’s hoping!

August Beauty Hits:

This month I had the chance to try the Purlisse Watermelon Energizing Aqua Balm (c/o) and it was love at first try! I wasn’t sure if it should be used in place of a serum or a moisturizer, so I used it as both. I have only used this product at night, and love it in place of a serum or moisturizer, since it does serve the purpose as both. My skin instantly felt brighter and more clear. The formula is lightweight and smells just like watermelon!

I also purchased the Essy Eyelash Growth Serum in August and after only a week I noticed a difference in my lashes. I am now going on week 4 and am hooked. When I purchased it, there was a flash sale on Amazon for $19.99. It is still under $30 and worth every penny.

The last product I tried and loved this month was the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer (c/o). I always come across this product on beauty blogs, and now I know why. I’m not sure why it took so long for me to try it, but I’m glad I finally did! It has a faint coconut smell, and blends really nicely on the skin. This bronzer gives a natural glow, and makes contouring a breeze!

August Beauty Misses:

I feel like I have been saying this every month, but the products in my misses category were not total fails. Dermalogicia Precleanse (c/o) was my favorite in the ‘misses’ category, and I’ll tell you why it wound up in this one. The price. I actually do love the earthy smell, and it does a good job of removing my makeup, however it’s really pricey. It works similarly to other products I’ve used that are a quarter of the price.

I received a fun PR package from COVERGIRL in August, and was excited to try out their latest mascara, Flourish by Lash Blast. As soon as I took the wand out of the packaging, I had a feeling it might be a miss. The brush is really thin, and unfortunately did not provide any length or extra volume to my lashes. Even when paired with the Covergirl Lash Blast Primer (c/o). The primer is a bit more of a hit, but still doesn’t compare to my favorite L’Oreal Voluminous primer.

Nude Block Heels: The Weekly Style Edit

Let’s just start this by saying it is almost September (what!) When I was editing the photos for today, I couldn’t help but notice all of the leaves on the ground already. I am trying to savor the last days of summer, and this white eyelet top has been a go-to of mine because it just screams summer to me. I wore almost this exact outfit for the last day of #TBScon (more on that soon!), and wanted to share a more dressed up version for today’s post.

You may remember that I shared these nude block heels a few weeks ago paired with a black jumpsuit. They are really the perfect pair of shoes that can be worn with pretty much any outfit. They also happen to be pretty damn comfortable for a pair of heels. I wore them to a wedding earlier in the month and walked around in them all night long without issue. For under $30, they’re a total steal!

Red Floral Maxi Dress: The Weekly Style Edit

Happy Thursday friends! I hope you’re having a great week so far. Mine has kept me fairly busy, so as always I’m looking forward to the weekend. I don’t see a ton of resting in my future though, which you’ll know what I’m talking about if you’ve been following along with my IG stories. My husband and I are in the middle of a DIY shower renovation, so my weekend will include more shower tiling (I’m telling you, just call us Chis and Joanna!).

Enough DIY bathroom talk (for now). Today I’m back at it with another dress this week, but this red floral maxi dress was too cute not to share! I picked this one up a few weeks ago to bring with me to #TBScon thanks to Macy’s. You guys, I’m clearly having a moment with boho style dresses. The subtle floral print on this one is so cute, and I can easily see myself transitioning this dress into fall with a denim jacket and ankle boots.

It’s kind of crazy that we are already talking about what to wear for fall, but it’s right around the corner! Black Boho Dress: The Weekly Style Edit

I wore this black boho dress for the first full day of #TBScon last week, and it wound up being the perfect outfit choice. I’m going to be honest, attending a conference with a bunch of style bloggers can be a bit intimidating. I also really had no idea what to expect weather wise since I am not used to any humidity. Let’s just say it was super hot and wearing a breezy boho dress was the best thing I could have done!

I can’t even begin to tell you about what a blast I had on my trip! I got to hang out with a few of my closest blogging friends, including Megan from The Fashionista Momma. We had only met in person once before, but didn’t really get to spend a lot of time together. Megan and I roomed together for the conference, and had way too much fun staying up way too late and taking full advantage of our kid free time! We also took a ton of photos for some upcoming posts that I can’t wait to share. Shout out to my girl Chanel from Chanel Moving Forward for today’s photos!
