Name the movie that I am referencing in my title today and we will be BFF’s forever. Once September hits in Albuquerque, the temperatures can be all over the place. One day it’s almost 100 and the next it’s down to the low 80’s. I always feel like I’m trying to make fall happen when I get dressed, but sometimes it’s impossible. Last year I shared a post about how to dress for fall when it feels like summer out because New Mexico is notorious for warm fall days. As soon as the temperature hits the 70’s, I live in cardigans! This mustard one from Evy’s Tree is already a new favorite of mine.
Also, can we talk about the gorgeousness that is my new Fawn Design bag? I’m not kidding when I say I’ve been lusting over this bag since Harper was a baby and just never got one. I had a different diaper bag that was perfectly fine when she was younger, so I never felt the need to buy a new one. I just couldn’t resist anymore, and honestly, this is way more than a diaper bag. It can be used as an every day bag, both to work and while I’m out and about with Harper. Speaking of her, she’s making a little cameo a few photos down and I just had to share it today.

As much as it saddens me to say, the end of summer is near. I can’t even believe that today is the first day of September! People always say that when you have children time seems to go by even faster than it did before, and trust me, it totally does! I am about as #basic as they come, and love anything to do with fall. It is a little much when stores already have Halloween decorations out in the middle of August, and you know the PSL will be coming out any day now. It usually feels more like summer in Albuquerque through September than it does fall, so I’m always looking for pieces to wear during the transition time.
When I get dressed every day, almost every single outfit can be completed by a few basic accessories. I love the occasional statement piece, but generally I am pretty minimal when it comes to accessories. I’m a sucker for personalized jewelry, fun statement sunglasses, and a classic bag! By keeping my accessory options limited, it make putting the finishing touches on an outfit a lot easier. This is even more true since becoming a mom! I don’t usually have the time to try on necklace after necklace to see what will work best. Today I am sharing my 5 basic accessories that every woman needs to complete an outfit.
